TECHNICAL ALCOHOL – TECHNICAL ETHANOL
Technical ethyl alcohol is the name for high concentration ethanol, usually 95% or 99%, which can be obtained with or without various denaturations. It is obtained as a by-product in the process of ethyl alcohol production. It contains an average of 92% v / v ethyl alcohol. It has a characteristic odor and is slightly colored, with a higher content of aldehydes, esters, higher alcohols and methanol.
Technical ethanol has many applications and it is often found in the production of, among other things, food, dyes and antiseptics and as an ingredient in environmentally friendly solvents.
Other uses include detergents, industrial inks, printing inks and in certain process industries.
