ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL (C3H8O)
CAS No. 67-63-0

Isopropyl alcohol is often used as a solvent and a source of hydride. IPA is similar to ethyl alcohol in terms of solvent characteristics and degree of evaporation. The physicochemical properties of IPA as solvents have enabled its application in the printing industry. High volatility, easy availability and efficiency achieved in printing are the main reasons for its application.

It is used as a solvent in the following branches of industry:

– in the pharmaceutical industry
– cosmetic industry
– chemical industry
– oil industry
– graphic industry. In offset printing, as a segment of the printing industry, IPA is used as a solvent in the wetting agent.
– in the paint and varnish industry
